BEFORE I START OR YOU READ ANY FURTHER, RATCHET WAS BASED OFF THIS SCREENSHOT : [link] just to clear that up incase you dont read far enough down in my description, as I have had some silly people (Who clearly dont bother reading my description where I STATE it was based on one), stating the obvious that I used that screenshot, well yes I did, but the colouring was all done by ME. If you would like to know more please read the rest of this description and check out my wip of this artwork as proof I did do it myself. ! Thank you

FINALLY DONE IT.

Taken me about 12 hours working on this today, I'm absolutely shattered now !

This originally was gonna be a colouring practise based in screenshots and grabs but I decided why not just make a picture out of it !

One of the hardest pictures I have done in terms of realism and detail. Yet again I struggled with the leafs on trees and am still not happy with them, 2 of my pet hates and hardest things to draw, hands and trees !!! Haha. Luckily I managed to avoid doing hands in this picture :D

Tried my best also to make objects in the distance more washed out in terms of colour and blended as they would in real life, which is something I usually forget to do.

One of the prettiest levels on Crack in Time so had to do it :) For those of you that haven't played a Crack in Time, you MUST do it now, simply a masterpiece. The music, graphics, storyline, gameplay, animation and humour is all amazing. The animation is above par with a Pixar movie in my opinion !

Found out a really easy way to create fur as well which is a bonus :D

After much playing through this level and scouring walkthroughs and screenshots I got the references I needed for this picture :)

Will do another picture soon but for now, really hope you like this :) ! PLEASEE leave your comments and feedback rather than just favourite, and let me know what you think of it or if you can give me any critique to improve for next time that would be great, thank you !! I have been told that the correct method to describe this is retouching due to me using a screenshot as reference, so thats what it is haha :)

And the Lineart here: [link]

Before you comment on this !! Please read:
I have had a couple of complete assholes messaging me from groups and so on (as you can see from the comments below, someone was even sad enough to make a PICTURE about how Ratchet is based on a screenshot when I already stated this and posted on EVERY comment I got on here :XD: ), and generally being incredibly rude to me saying I completely copy and pasted this picture and did not do any of it myself !! I find this INCREDIBLY offensive as I spent the last 2-3 days doing this including the lineart and base colours !! Obviously Ratchets pose was based off of a screenshot, I am never afraid to admit that, the reason behind this is that this is how I learn and always have done since I was 12, on how to get a feel for drawing skeletons of characters and colour them so I can then do my OWN original poses and artwork.

If I had simply 'copy and pasted it', why have I uploaded my lineart and base colours ?!

You can see from my gallery if you go back right to 6 years ago when I first joined, my (crappy) sonic art was based off of official artwork poses, and then as I got better with it I started to do my own characters and poses, and thats exactly what I am doing here ! Would be nice if people actually bothered to read artists comments before whining and moaning about something I have already explained !! If you compare this to the screenshot I used as reference you can see that although they do look very similar (Which is the idea) they are not coloured the same therefore they are NOT COPY AND PASTED !!)

As for the background I played through the game level many times to get to know the scenery and used some walkthroughs of the level on youtube too so I could do it myself, so obviously that is not copy and pasted either, I spent hours on the background as I find it really hard to colour trees and so on so to be told I did not do it myself is really hurtful ! I'm not saying at all that I did not use a screenshot as a reference for ratchet and that I did not trace over the screenshot of him, but I did colour it myself which took a long time and lots of effort.

Really sorry for that rant, but I am sick of people accusing me of simply copy and pasting pictures together and putting it on here, It is MEANT to look similar to the screenshot I used as reference, the idea is to do it myself and see how similar I can get it ! So if you have nothing constructive to say or are gonna moan without knowing the facts then just bugger off :) If I ever use something as reference or base it off official art/a screenshot then I will ALWAYS say that I have !

Have a nice day !

My God, where shall I begin?

Ratchet looks amazing. Compared to the picture of him in the link that you provided, there is barely to no difference. The fur on his tail and ears aren't overly "fuzzy" and he's structured perfectly. The colours and textures of the armor look great.

You complained about the background, particularly the leaves, but they look good. They suit the atmosphere. It looks like there's vines amongst the leaves. The rest of the background has the right depth and distance.

This picture is fantastic. It's beautifully done, and you certainly have talent. I don't think anyone could doubt that about you.
